India and Bangladesh are currently contesting the second Test at Green Park, Kanpur, which began on Friday, September 27. The match’s start was delayed due to a wet outfield, but the players eventually took the field after the toss. To lighten the mood, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja provided some entertainment by imitating teammate Jasprit Bumrah’s unique bowling action.
Kohli was the first to mimic Bumrah’s unusual style, with the pacer standing nearby, and fielding coach Ryan ten Doeschate watching with amusement. Kohli didn’t stop at just the bowling action, as he also imitated Bumrah’s distinct walk. Jadeja soon joined in, playfully recreating Bumrah’s walk back to his bowling mark. The lighthearted moment provided some laughs before the serious business of the Test began.

Kohli’s Redemption After a Disappointing First Test
Kohli will be keen to make an impact in this Test, especially after a disappointing performance in the previous game. Although India won the first Test convincingly at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Kohli struggled with the bat, scoring just 6 runs in the first innings and 17 in the second.
Despite his failure to score big, India secured a dominant 280-run victory, setting Bangladesh a daunting target of 515 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin played a key role, not only scoring a century in the first innings but also taking six wickets in the second to help dismiss Bangladesh for 234.
As for the current Test, India won the toss and chose to field, marking the first time since 2015 that they opted to bowl first in a home Test. At the time of this report, Bangladesh were 93 for 3 after 32 overs, with the game finely poised.
India and Bangladesh’s ongoing second Test at Green Park, Kanpur, has already provided moments of levity and intense competition. While Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja’s playful imitation of Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action offered a lighthearted start, Kohli will be eager to redeem himself after a lacklustre performance in the previous match.
Despite his struggles, India’s comprehensive victory in the first Test, led by Ashwin’s all-round brilliance, has set the tone for the series. With India opting to field first, a rare decision on home soil, the current Test promises further excitement as Bangladesh tries to recover from early setbacks, and India look to seal another dominant win.
