Team India arrived in Nagpur to play their second T20 international against Australia. India were trailing in the series 0-1 after losing the first game in Mohali. The hosts suffered a massive defeat as they failed to defend a total of 208.

The Men in Blue touched down in Nagpur for a fightback on their home turf. However, rain played spoilsport. Overnight incessant rainfall resulted in a damp outfield. Without sunlight, the outfield did not dry out within game time. Multiple inspections took place. Umpires wanted to make sure that the safety of players was not compromised.

Despite the delay, the stadium was packed with die-hard cricket fans. They did not move an inch throughout the whole game. Their passion and love moved the teams, and they agreed to play a short 8-over game.

During the wait time, fans saw a glimpse of Virat Kohli strolling in the dressing room. At the first sight itself, fans began chanting “RCB….RCB….RCB”. However, Virat Kohli was bemused by the chants and immediately gestured to stop the chants. He then pointed his fingers toward the India logo on his jersey and urged the fans to cheer for the Indian team.

India register thrilling win over Australia in Nagpur

Aaron Finch and the boys were asked to bat first in the rain-curtailed encounter. The duo of Finch and Matthew Wade anchored the Australian innings and they posted a total of 90 runs in eight overs.

India gave a befitting reply with skipper Rohit Sharma coming all guns blazing from the first ball. Wickets kept falling from one end, but Rohit held his ground from the other side.

India needed nine off the last six deliveries. Dinesh Karthik was promoted up in the order to tackle Daniel Sams. He executed his plans perfectly and sealed the victory in just 2 balls. He smashed Sams for a six and a boundary, thus leveling the series at 1-1.
