Virat Kohli’s appreciation for music may have been influenced by his actress wife, Anushka Sharma, who has appeared in songs by many well-known singers. His love for music helps him maintain high energy on the field.
“It’s contributing to that good feel”- When Virat Kohli shared his favourite musical artists
In a past interview, Virat Kohli mentioned that he enjoys music from various artists, including Arijit Singh, Jagjit Singh, Lata Mangeshkar, Sanam, and Vishal Mishra, among others. He told (via Geo TV) in 2023:
“I love his unplugged songs. He (one of his friends) was quite surprised at my playlist as it was vintage, including songs by Jagjit Singh, Lata Mangeshkar, and all the others that basically touch your heart.”
“Earlier I used to be in that space of where you know energy is buzzing all the time and you want that kick [of energy], there are times for that. I still listen to Punjabi music every now and then. But most of the time for me now, it’s contributing to that good feel when you are listening and someone is really singing good,” he added.
Professionally, Virat Kohli aims to perform better in the third Test after scoring just 1 and 17 in the second match, where New Zealand triumphed by 113 runs. In the first match, he recorded a duck and a score of 70, but India lost by eight wickets.
The star batsman has been dismissed by spinners three times out of four in this series, reflecting his ongoing struggles against spin in Asia since 2021.
