Prominent Indian batter Virat Kohli boasts a large fan base, evident on Day 2 of the ongoing third Test against New Zealand on Saturday, November 2, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
As New Zealand batted in their second innings, the crowd erupted in chants of “Virat Kohli.” While fielding in the slips, the Delhi-born cricketer showed his gratitude by waving to the fans and placing his hand over his heart.

The 35-year-old had a frustrating performance in the first innings, narrowly missing out at the non-striker’s end while attempting a quick single. He was out for just four runs off six balls. Overall, Kohli’s series has been subpar, accumulating only 92 runs in five innings, with one half-century to his name.
India Leads in the Third Test Against New Zealand
Ravindra Jadeja shone with the ball for India, taking five wickets to help dismiss the Black Caps for 235 runs in their first innings. The hosts ended Day 1 at 86 for four. In the morning session of Day 2, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill sparked India’s resurgence with a 96-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Pant scored 60 runs off 59 balls, while Gill fell short of a century with 90 runs off 146 balls. Toward the end, Washington Sundar remained not out on 38 as India finished their first innings with 263 runs, gaining a vital 28-run lead. Ajaz Patel took five wickets for New Zealand.
In New Zealand’s second innings, Akash Deep made an early impact by dismissing captain Tom Latham for just one run. Devon Conway (22) and Will Young added 37 runs for the second wicket before Sundar removed Conway.
Ravichandran Ashwin took his first wicket by getting Rachin Ravindra out. Jadeja then quickly struck twice, dismissing Daryl Mitchell (21) and Tom Blundell (4). At that point, the visitors were at 119 for five, leading by 91 runs, with Young (41) and Glenn Phillips (14) at the crease.
