[WATCH]- Virat Kohli Faces Krishna And Rana Ahead Of BGT 2024-25 4th Test

Former India captain Virat Kohli was seen honing his batting skills in the nets on Tuesday, December 24, facing Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna. The Delhi-born cricketer had recently played in the third match of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at The Gabba in Brisbane.

The rain-affected match saw Australia’s Steven Smith (101) and Travis Head (152) score centuries, helping the hosts set a total of 445 in their first innings. India could only manage 260 in reply, with Kohli scoring a disappointing three runs. On the final day, Australia declared their second innings at 89-7, setting India a target of 275 runs.

However, rain halted play when India were at 8-0, and the match ended in a draw with no further action possible. Ahead of the fourth Test, the experienced batter was spotted in the nets, preparing for the crucial Boxing Day Test, scheduled to start on Thursday, December 26, in Melbourne.

Virat Kohli has not had a strong 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy so far

Virat Kohli is constantly under heavy expectations, and he rose to the occasion in the first Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth. Although he was out for just five runs in the first innings, he made a strong recovery in the second, scoring an unbeaten 100 (his 30th Test century), where India claimed a commanding 295-run victory.

However, his form has declined in the last two matches, with Kohli accumulating only 21 runs across three innings. Given his track record of bouncing back, fans will be hopeful for a strong showing in the fourth Test.

Overall, the 36-year-old has participated in 16 Test matches in Australia, amassing a total of 1,478 runs. This includes 7 centuries and 4 half-centuries, showcasing his consistent ability to perform at a high level on Australian soil.
