RCB will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign on Saturday, March 22, facing Kolkata Knight Riders in the season opener at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Last year, they secured a playoff spot but were eliminated in the Eliminator. Despite reaching the finals three times, the franchise is yet to clinch its first IPL title.
Virat Kohli holds the record for the most catches in IPL history
When it comes to catches, Virat Kohli stands as the most successful fielder in IPL history. He holds the record for the most catches, securing 114 grabs in 252 matches. Other players who have crossed the 100-catch mark include Suresh Raina (109), Kieron Pollard (103), Ravindra Jadeja (103), and Rohit Sharma (101).
Kohli’s exceptional fitness keeps him sharp on the field, as evident from his stunning catch at the RCB Unbox event. With the new season approaching, all eyes will be on him once again. In IPL 2024, Kohli claimed the Orange Cap after scoring 741 runs in 15 matches, averaging 61.75 with a strike rate of 154.69.
His performances included a century and five half-centuries. As RCB continues its pursuit of a maiden IPL title, the franchise will hope for another stellar season from their star batter. Additionally, Kohli is the all-time leading run-scorer in IPL history, amassing 8004 runs, including eight centuries.
