India’s opening batter Rohit Sharma quietly celebrated his century in the third ODI against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, October 25, sharing the moment with Virat Kohli. The 33rd ODI hundred came with a composed single to long-off in the 33rd over during the series-deciding run chase.

Rohit was in exceptional form from the start of India’s second innings, building on his fifty in the second ODI at Adelaide Oval. He adapted well to the pitch conditions while keeping the scoreboard ticking, playing a key role as India scored 68 runs in the first powerplay.

The opener continued his strong performance through the middle overs, forming a massive second-wicket partnership with Virat Kohli. By the 33rd over bowled by Adam Zampa, Rohit was just four runs short of the milestone. He added a couple of runs at the start of the over and had the chance to reach three figures on the very next ball.

However, a powerful straight drive struck Virat Kohli at the non-striker’s end, stopping the pair from taking two runs. Rohit stayed calm and picked up a couple of singles to reach his century. With a subtle smile, Rohit raised his bat to acknowledge the enthusiastic Sydney crowd and shared a heartfelt hug with Virat Kohli, making the moment truly special.
