IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru lose for the first time.
Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru started their Indian Premier League 2026 campaign well, winning their first two matches comfortably against SunRisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. However, in their third match against the Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on April 10, they faced their first loss of the season.
After being asked to bat first, RCB scored 201/8 in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan chased down the target in just 18 overs, losing four wickets. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played a brilliant knock of 78 off 26 balls, while Dhurv Jurel stayed unbeaten on 81 off 43 balls to guide their team to victory.

Virat Kohli gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru a fast start even though the team lost a few wickets in the powerplay. Before getting out in the fifth over, he scored 32 runs off just 16 balls, hitting seven fours.
The IPL’s all-time leading run-scorer is currently the second-highest scorer for RCB in Indian Premier League 2026. He has made 129 runs in three matches, with an average of 64.50 and a strike rate of 179.16. His scores this season so far are 69 not out, 28, and 32.
