Former Indian captain Virat Kohli was seen at Mumbai airport on Sunday, October 13, as he left for Bengaluru. The first Test of the three-match series against New Zealand is set to begin on Wednesday, October 16, at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The second Test will take place at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune starting October 24, followed by the final match in Mumbai on November 1. Recently, the Delhi-born cricketer returned to Mumbai from London and is now on his way to join the team in Bengaluru.

The 35-year-old was last seen in action during India’s home Test series against Bangladesh, where he had a challenging start with scores of 6 and 17 in the first match.
However, he bounced back in the second game, scoring a rapid 47 runs off 35 balls in the first innings and remaining not out on 29 runs off 37 balls in the second, helping India secure a clean sweep over Bangladesh.

He has played 115 Tests for the nation, amassing 8,947 runs at an average of 48.89, including 30 fifties and 29 centuries. The right-handed batsman needs only 53 more runs to join the exclusive club of Indian players with 9,000 Test runs.
Kohli is expected to play a crucial role in India’s success during the upcoming home series against New Zealand and the away tour of Australia later this year. He has a strong Test record against New Zealand, scoring 866 runs in 11 matches, including three fifties and three hundreds.
His performance against Australia is also notable, with 2,042 runs at an average of 47.48 in 25 games, featuring five fifties and eight centuries.
In Australia specifically, he has accumulated 1,352 runs in 13 matches at an average of 54.08, including six centuries, and he aims to continue this success in the upcoming five-match Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
