[WATCH]- Virat Kohli Seen At Mumbai Airport Before The IND vs AUS 2024 BGT Test Series

Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli was recently seen at Mumbai Airport as he prepares for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia. Kohli’s last outing was in the Test series against New Zealand earlier this month, where India suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat.

Individually, Kohli’s performance was below par, managing just 93 runs in six innings at an average of 15.50 while batting in the middle order. Many other Indian batsmen also struggled to score runs on the challenging turning pitches during the series.

However, Indian cricket fans remain hopeful about Kohli’s return to form during the upcoming tour of Australia, given his impressive record in the country.

An X user posted a few videos on Saturday (November 9), offering a recent glimpse of Virat Kohli at Mumbai Airport, likely heading to Australia for the Test series. In the clips, Kohli can be seen posing for photos with fans before walking into the airport.

“That Didn’t Feel Right To Me” – Ricky Ponting On Virat Kohli’s Poor Test Record Over The Last Five Years

Before the BGT 2024 series, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting reviewed Virat Kohli’s batting form in Tests over the past few years and voiced concerns about his modest returns. He stated that any other top-order batsman would likely have lost their spot in the playing XI after such a rough patch. In the latest episode of ICC Review, Ponting shared his thoughts:

“I saw a stat the other day about Virat, it said he’s only scored two (three) Test hundreds in the last five years. That didn’t seem right to me, but if that is right, then that is, I mean, that’s a concern.”

“There wouldn’t be anyone else probably even playing international cricket as a top-order batsman that’s only scored two Test match hundreds in five years. I’ve said it before about Virat, you don’t ever question the greats of the game.”

Ponting further  continued: “There’s no question that he’s a great of the game. He thrives when playing against Australia – in fact, I know he enjoys it. His record in Australia is excellent. If there’s ever a time for him to turn things around, it’s this series. So, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Virat score runs in the first match.”
