Team India’s star batter Virat Kohli was seen at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport following the conclusion of the ODI series against New Zealand. Despite India going down 1–2 in the series, Kohli emerged as the side’s highest run-getter, finishing on a high with a courageous 124 in the decider at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday, January 18.
The knock marked Kohli’s 54th century in ODI cricket, though it came in a 41-run defeat that handed India their first home ODI series loss since 2023. He had earlier played a decisive role in the opening match at Vadodara with a match-winning 93 during the chase, before contributing 23 runs in the second ODI at Rajkot.
With India’s next ODI assignment slated for the June–July white-ball tour of England, Kohli will have a break from the 50-over format for now. Meanwhile, the Men in Blue face an intense T20I schedule, beginning with a five-match series against New Zealand, ahead of the crucial 2026 T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli graciously acknowledged the appreciation from those present at the airport and also cautioned them to be careful to avoid any mishap, before proceeding into the terminal. You can watch the video (via: Hindustan Times):

“Virat Kohli’s Form A Big Plus For India”- Shubman Gill After IND vs NZ ODIs
Virat Kohli maintained his impressive run of form in the home ODI series against New Zealand, amassing 240 runs from three games at a remarkable average of 80 and a strike rate of 105.26. He entered the series on the back of a strong showing against South Africa at home and a productive short spell with Delhi during the group stage of the 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Despite the disappointing series defeat, Team India captain Shubman Gill hailed Kohli’s purple patch as a major positive for the side.
“The way Virat bhai is batting, that’s definitely a plus always. The way Harshit has batted in this series, batting at No. 8, it’s not easy, but the way he stepped up and the way our fast bowlers have bowled in this series has been pretty good,” Shubman Gill had said during the post-match presentation.
