Virat Kohli is known as one of the most fun-loving cricketers globally. This was clear today (Saturday, September 21), as he was spotted enjoying himself with on-field umpire Richard Kettleborough during the first Test between India and Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Kettleborough declared him LBW on the day before the interaction. Crucially, he was out but failed to recognize his inside edge before rejecting the DRS after a brief conversation with his batting colleague Shubman Gill.
There was a slight inside edge seen on replay before it made contact with pad and Kohli would have had that one easily reversed had he gone upstairs.

The first Test against Bangladesh didn’t see Virat Kohli having a good time with bat at all. In his two innings’ scorecards, right-handed batsman scored nothing more than six and seventeen respectively and this happened after years of absence from Tests since he missed five matches series against England before this year.
Additionally, ahead of Test season, 35-year-old also missed Duleep Trophy. Kohli will now look to make amends in the second Test against Bangladesh, which will be played in Kanpur from September 27. The Delhi-born batter is on the verge of completing 27,000 runs in international cricket.

Also, India’s captain Rohit Sharma flopped in the opening Test apart from Kohli who managed scores of six and five in his two innings. The 37-year-old had also skipped the Duleep Trophy earlier this month.
Despite the failures of Kohli and Rohit, India has set a 515-run target for Bangladesh, thanks to centuries from Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Ravichandran Ashwin. At the end of Day 3, the visitors were 158/4 in their second innings.
