Royal Challengers Bangalore’s opener Virat Kohli’s struggle in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season continued on Wednesday against the Chennai Super Kings. He was dismissed by off-spinner Moeen Ali for thirty runs.

After being asked to bat first, Virat Kohli opened the innings along with Faf Du Plessis. He started off well slamming two boundaries in the first two overs. Kohli also slammed a six against Simarjeet Singh, over the covers. However, he failed to keep the scoreboard ticking at a good pace. In the tenth over, Moeen Ali bowled a classic off-spin delivery to dismiss the Indian cricketer.

Virat Kohli tried to flick the ball but did not get to the pitch off the ball and played across the line. The ball sneaked through to hit the middle and the leg stump. Kohli had to go back to the pavilion for 30 runs at 33 balls, at a strike rate of 90.91. This was the eleventh time across formats that Kohli has been dismissed by Moeen Ali. The right-handed batter’s trouble against off-spinners has been well exploited in recent years.
