[WATCH] Virat Kohli’s Stunning Throw Dismisses Shashank Singh In The PBKS vs RCB Match

Swashbuckling India and RCB player Virat Kohli, renowned as one of the most physically fit cricketers globally, prioritizes his fielding, which once again proved beneficial during Thursday’s IPL match against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala.

In the 14th over, Kohli showcased his prowess with a remarkable one-handed pick-up and precise throw to dismiss Shashank Singh, all seemingly in a seamless motion. Charging in from deep mid-wicket, he swiftly gathered the ball and unleashed a direct hit at the bowler’s end, followed by an exuberant ‘over-the-top’ celebration.

At a critical moment in the game, Shashank appeared to be in control and dominating proceedings until the pivotal runout occurred. The PBKS batsman, who seemed well set, was dismissed after scoring 37 runs off 19 balls.

Earlier in the match, Virat Kohli led the charge with an impressive 92 runs off 47 deliveries, propelling Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to a formidable total of 241/7 in 20 overs against Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium.

Kohli’s innings, characterized by seven fours and six sixes, showcased his vintage style, resulting in a strike rate of 195.74 and elevating his IPL 2024 tally beyond the 600-run mark. Rajat Patidar provided valuable support with a half-century, scoring 55 runs, marking his fourth fifty of the season.

Virat Kohli capitalizes on PBKS’s bad fielding

Virat Kohli might have been out for a duck if PBKS hadn’t made fielding errors. Although Vidhwath Kaverappa managed to trick Kohli into a false shot, Ashutosh Sharma dropped a high catch, letting Kohli score his first run.

Kohli received another opportunity when he was dropped by Rossouw at short covers. From then on, his innings was flawless as he dominated the Punjab bowlers. He played exceptional shots, indicating that he may be back to his best form.

A brilliant half-century from Rajat Patidar (55 off 23) and a valuable contribution from Cameron Green (46 off 27) helped RCB reach a massive total of 241/7, despite a superb final over from Harshal Patel. Along with their efforts, the bowlers did exceptionally well and they successfully restricted the PBKS and won by 60 runs.
