Following a strong beginning in the 2nd ODI, Sri Lanka now face difficulties as they struggle to read Washington Sundar. The right-arm off-spinner made an immediate impact by claiming two rapid wickets. Although Sri Lanka was comfortably positioned at 70/1, Sundar struck in his second over by dismissing Avishka Fernando.

In his third over, Washington Sundar delivered a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Kusal Mendis. The right-arm off-spinner successfully trapped Mendis in front of the stumps, resulting in an LBW (leg before wicket) decision from the umpires.

Rohit Sharma aggressively confronts Washington Sundar over his mistake

India captain Rohit Sharma is maintaining a relaxed atmosphere on the field during the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Indian bowlers have been consistently taking wickets, with Washington Sundar playing a crucial role.

He helped shift the momentum back in India’s favour after Sri Lanka’s impressive 74-run stand between Avishka Fernando (40) and Kusal Mendis (30). Washington Sundar dismissed both set batsmen in quick succession, putting India back in control. Despite his effective bowling, Sundar struggled with his run-up during the 33rd over.

He lost his run-up twice before delivering the ball, causing frustration for India captain Rohit Sharma, who was in the first slip. In response, Sharma humorously charged at Sundar, and this playful reaction was particularly notable as Sundar lost his run-up a third time during the over, amusing spectators.
