Pakistan‘s lackluster performance, including defeats to the US and India in the initial round, resulted in extensive scrutiny. In response to a viral video showing him raging at a supporter, Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf has spoken about the episode on X social media site.

After Pakistan’s early exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup, with losses to the USA and India in the group stage, the team has faced significant scrutiny. In the wake of a viral video showing him in a heated argument with a fan, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has addressed the incident on social media platform X.

“I decided to not bring this on social media, but now that the video is out, I feel it is necessary to address the situation,” Rauf wrote.

“As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public. They are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. “It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” he added.

In the viral clip, Rauf is shown walking with his wife when he encounters a group of people. Though the video doesn’t capture their conversation, something said clearly agitates Rauf, causing him to lose his temper and charge toward one of the individuals.

Shaheen Shah Afridi also took to his X account in support of Rauf. “It is absolutely disgraceful how Haris Rauf was treated. No one has the right to belittle and disrespect another person.”

”I’m also shocked by those who have shared this video. Why prioritize a few likes over our humanity? Stay strong, Haris. We stand united with you,” Afridi wrote.

Also voicing in favor of Rauf was Pakistan keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who wrote, “It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India. What truly matters is that this individual lacked values and manners.”

”No one has the right to disrespect any human being, especially in front of their family members. Such appalling behavior must be stopped. Values like tolerance, respect, and compassion are increasingly rare commodities.”
