[WATCH] Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Brilliant Ramp Shot Leaves Jofra Archer Bewildered

India was off to a great start in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. England won its fourth toss of the series and elected to go into the field. Jaiswal and Rahul managed to resist the English bowlers, and at lunch India had scored 78 runs without losing any wickets.

Jaiswal and Rahul started off pretty well in partnership, and the required strike rate was approximately 50 for both batters. Jaiswal hit a crazy six off Ben Stokes in the over before the lunch break. Jaiswal is unbeaten at 36, and KL Rahul got 40.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Unintentional Boundary

Among the most memorable moments during the day of play was a boundary scored by Yashasvi Jaiswal off Jofra Archer. Pacer bowled a fast delivery and Jaiswal, who was getting confused, leaned backwards on his knees and raised his bat. The ball just bounced off and flew over the head of the keeper, and a boundary was scored. It is too late to determine whether this was an accidental shot or a well-planned ramp shot.

This boundary seemed to be an accidental gift; however, a boundary may never be superfluous. Jaiswal has formed a good partnership with Rahul, giving India a concrete inning. As both batsmen settle down in a good state, India is equipped to post a big total.

Jofra Archer is keeping a superior economy compared to the other bowlers among the English. England still struggled to get the Indian partnerships in and the Indian team was 78/0 at lunch.

In the current fourth Test, Rishabh Pant and Sai Sudharsan have assisted three-down India to rebound against England at Old Trafford, Manchester. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed on 57 and KL Rahul scored 46. The two gave a good kick-start to India, with a partnership of 94 runs in the first over. Shubman Gill (12) was dismissed cheaply.
