AB de Villiers is still captivating the world with his untold abilities four years after his retirement announcement in International cricket. During the current World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 match between India and South Africa, the Protea icon displayed his class as he led his team to a magnificent victory with his unbeaten 63 off only 30 deliveries. The innings of De Villiers consisted of three fours and four sixes, taking the total score of the team to 208/6 after 20 overs.
The South African opening pair had a decent beginning as Hashim Amla went on to make 22 off 19 balls. But it was De Villiers who stole the show, carrying his aura to the pitch. He has natural shots to hit the ball to great positions, and his timing has all the time in the world before hitting a shot.

The innings of AB de Villiers was a master class in batting in which the ageing legend did not appear to have slowed down yet. He could even be seen to run three easily, one that was quite spectacular to see by the spectators. And de Villiers made himself felt through the match, and showed the sort of man he is in every shot.
This was not the only impact that De Villiers had in the tournament. He took a dramatic catch to send opener of West indies champions, Dwayne Smith, back to the dugoutoff the bowling of Aaron Phangiso in the first game itself, which was to play a significant part in the match result. Even though he did not score a lot during that game, his efforts were critical to the success of the team.
The match against the Indians confirmed De Villiers as a player with permanent ability. Even though it is four years after retirement, he still continues to dominate the game with his own style and flair. His 63* off 30 balls shall go down in memory, and it is apparent that AB de Villiers still has a lot to give and contribute to the cricket world.
