“We Are Trying To Push The Limits Of What We Can Do As A Team” – Ryan Ten Doeschate Ahead Of IND Vs BAN 2024 3rd T20I

Team India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate noted that they aim to consistently push their limits as the Men in Blue seek a T20I series sweep against Bangladesh. The former Netherlands all-rounder mentioned that the recent Kanpur Test was a prime example of this effort.

The hosts secured an unexpected victory against Bangladesh in Kanpur, despite losing two full days to rain and a wet outfield. They accelerated their batting strategy and successfully took 20 wickets to clinch a decisive win on day five.

When asked if the message to the players is to play fearlessly, the 44-year-old concurred, adding that they should do so without being concerned about the circumstances.

As quoted by ESPNcricinfo, he commented:

“Hundred percent. I think it has shown in the way we have played. The Test match in Kanpur is a great example. We are trying to push the limits of what we can do as a team. We have obviously got the quality to do it. And then it’s about giving the players the belief to do it in a safe space, that if it’s not going to go right, it’s also okay.”

With a revamped squad, India has dominated Bangladesh in all aspects during both T20Is. The home team won the first T20I by seven wickets and the second by 86 runs.

“It’s nice to have options” –Ryan ten Doeschate is proud to have a variety of part-time bowlers on the team

With Hardik Pandya bowling in the first T20I but not in the second, Ryan ten Doeschate indicated that India is focused on expanding their range of bowling options. He added:

“You see the way the game is going, it’s very rare that all five bowlers, or even six bowlers, are going to go well on a given day. So it’s nice to have options. Ideally, you want them to bowl a little bit more, but someone like Hardik not bowling in the last game, it’s just a testament to the depth of the bowling in the team.”

The third T20I between the two teams is scheduled for Saturday (October 12) and will mark the final international match for veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah.
