Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has wished Team India good luck for the upcoming semi-final clash against England on Thursday, November 10 at the Adelaide Oval. He hopes that the Indian team reaches Melbourne to play in the finals of the tournament. Pakistan has already booked its place in the final with a convincing win over New Zealand in the first semi-final.

Earlier in the tournament, India and Pakistan locked horns in Melbourne to kick off their campaign. In that game, Pakistan suffered a close defeat, as Virat Kohli powered India to a thrilling win. They will be keen to settle the scores if India reaches the final by defeating England. Wishing India luck, after Pakistan’s memorable win, Shoaib Akhtar expressed that Pakistan is waiting for their neighbors in Melbourne.

“India, we have reached Melbourne and now we are waiting for you. Wish you the best of luck and hope you reach Melbourne. I want an India vs Pakistan final and, once more, them face each other. The whole world is waiting for it,” Shoaib was quoted saying by India Today.

We have a habit of making comebacks: Shoaib Akhtar

Former pacer Shoaib Akhtar further expressed that Pakistan has a habit of making comebacks. They lost their first two matches of the tournament, against India and Zimbabwe. However, pulled things back brilliantly to book a berth in the finals. Lauding Pakistan’s performance, Shoaib Akhtar expressed that they batted well in the semis. He said,

“Well done, Pakistan, well done. Prayers have helped Pakistan reach the final. We have a habit of making comebacks. Pakistan batted brilliantly. New Zealand should have bowled first and they misjudged the pitch.”

The final of the 2022 T20 World Cup will take place on Sunday, November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The second finalist will be decided on Thursday, with India taking on England at the Adelaide Oval.
