AB de Villiers singing

We all knew AB De Villiers is capable of playing any sport growing up. Be it hockey, badminton, football, or tennis. But how many knew he had great skills off the field? Well, he does!

The prolific batsman from South Africa is loved and adored by fans all over India. And why wouldn’t they? He is an amazing personality on the field and a wonderful father off it. His repertoire has no limits. IPL franchise RCB, the camp De Villiers is part of, recently posted a video of him singing and playing the guitar at his father’s birthday party.

Accompanying him was his wife, Danielle De Villiers, and together, they mesmerized the crowd as well as social media. Fans had nothing but praise for the South African, who has retired from international cricket.

Proof that AB de Villiers literally can do anything

The post which was a repost of De Villiers’ message said, “On the 29th we celebrated my Father’s 70th bday and I had the privilege to perform one of my all time favourite songs with my beautiful wife @danielledevilliers,” he started.

“We all interpret songs in our own unique way, this song has a particularly special meaning to me and reminds me that God is always there, no matter what happens,” De Villiers continued.

AB de Villiers added that while singing when he looked across the room to his dad, it reminded him how lucky he had been to have had him by his side as a role model for so many years.

“Thanks, @antonbothaband for your time and effort. Your incredible set after our performance completed a very special evening,” he concluded.

De Villiers won’t be part of the 2021 T20 World Cup

After a fabulous run for RCB in the first phase of the IPL 2021, rumors started making the rounds about a possible return to the national side for AB de Villiers. He also stated there was progress in his talks with Mark Boucher, and things were looking positive.

However, to the fans’ dismay, Cricket South Africa made an official statement that put the speculations to bed.

“Discussions with AB de Villiers have concluded with the batsman deciding once and for all that his retirement will remain final,” Cricket South Africa said in its statement.
