West Indies cricket has announced the squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka, starting October 13. Several players, including Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, and Shimron Hetmyer, have opted out, leading to the inclusion of some uncapped players.

Terrance Hinds and Shamar Springer are part of the T20I squad following their performances in CPL 2024. Hinds, a right-arm pacer, has taken eight wickets in eight games, while Springer has claimed 12 wickets in nine matches.

Head coach Darren Sammy noted that several senior players chose to rest and seek rehabilitation for injuries. As stated on the official website, he mentioned:

The tour of Sri Lanka gives us a chance to test our depth and assess players in different situations, especially with several senior players missing out for various reasons, including a need for rest and rehabilitation from injury. We are confident in the squad’s ability to compete strongly against Sri Lanka.”
