Virat Kohli also brought up another half-century in this format. The partnership between the two has crossed the 100-run mark. With enough wickets left India has created a strong base to accelerate in the last phase of the innings to post a huge score in this final ODI. Gill’s knock has come to an end at 116 runs from 97 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes striking at 119.59.
India had gotten off to a good start with Shubman Gill and Captain Rohit Sharma stitching a 95 runs partnership until the latter was dismissed for 42 runs by Chamika Karunaratne. From the start, the intent was very clear, and they were scoring at above a run a ball.
India won the toss and chose to bat first earlier in the game. The hosts have made two changes to their playing 11 by bringing in Suryakumar Yadav and Washington Sundar. They are only playing two proper seam bowlers with no sixth bowling option. India will be looking to extend their lead from 2-0 to 3-0 by whitewashing Sri Lanka and extending their dominance at home in this format.
