Jacobus Leus du the Plooy (Leus du Plooy), is a Hungarian-born cricketer from South Africa playing for Derbyshire in first-class cricket. He did represent Free State and his native South Africa during 2016’s Africa T20 Cup. On August 2017, he was incorporated into the Benoni Zalmi team’s list that was going to debut in the T20 Global League.

Career
He was part of the Free State team for the 2016 Africa T20 Cup. In August 2017, he was incorporated into the Benoni Zalmi team for their first season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, it was postponed by Cricket South Africa till November 2018 before being called off soon after.
In September 2018, du Plooy was included in Northern’s squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup. In four matches, he scored 145 runs making him the highest scorer in the competition for his team.
He also topped the 2018–19 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge with an impressive record of 593 runs in eleven appearances. Again he emerged as the best player for Northerns during the 2018-2019 CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup scoring 647 runs across eleven games.
In April 2019, du Plooy signed a two-year contract to play county cricket in England, joining Derbyshire as a Kolpak player. In April 2022, he was bought by the Welsh Fire for the 2022 season of The Hundred. He was appointed captain of Derbyshire, replacing Billy Godleman, in October 2022.
In July 2023, it was announced that du Plooy would join Middlesex from the 2024 season, agreeing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2028. In September 2023 Du Plooy made his debut for the Hungarian National Cricket side scoring 93 runs and taking 3 wickets in a T10 victory against Finland.
