The 2024 T20 World Cup Super-Eight match between Afghanistan and India in Barbados on Thursday, June 20, features India pacer Mohammed Siraj discussing his recent attempt to mimic Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature celebration.

The player with speed disclosed that he only joins in the celebrations like Ronaldo after he shuts out batters, as he looks up to the football star for his perseverance and physical prowess.

But in the middle of all the cricketing greatness, there was a moment that went beyond sports, captivating the interest of football fans throughout the globe.

Ronaldo is a legendary football player who has left a lasting impression with his incredible skills and characteristic celebrations. Numerous sportsmen, both inside and outside of the football world, have imitated his “SUII” celebration.

“He always has a never-give-up attitude” – Mohammed Siraj

The Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj revealed that on Thursday, June 20, in Barbados, he honored the Portuguese football player by adopting his signature “Siu” celebration.

Siraj told teammate Kuldeep Yadav in an ICC clip: “I only do the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration when I clean bowl someone, then only I come up with that celebration, not for a catch or LBW.”

“I do the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration because I like and admire him because of his work ethic, the routine that he follows, and the way he performs consistently. He always has a never-give-up attitude, toward his fitness and recovery. I like that kind of attitude. Ronaldo is the best GOAT all the time,” Mohammed Siraj added.

The “SUII” celebration of Mohammad Siraj shook the cricket world. It served as a reminder that happiness and good sportsmanship are qualities that apply to all sports, not just cricket and football.
