Team India is dominating the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, leading the points table and also in the batting and bowling charts. They defeated New Zealand in a clash of the table-toppers recently on October 22 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamshala to continue their winning streak.
Team India has won all of their five matches so far in the tournament. They have ten points from five games and an NRR of 1.353. The Rohit Sharma-led team is very close to securing a spot in the knockout stages of the tournament. They will be keen to continue their winning momentum and stay unbeaten throughout the tournament. This feat has been achieved four times in the past.

#1975 ODI World Cup
The 1975 ODI World Cup was the inaugural edition of the Men’s Cricket championship. West Indies was a dominant force in the tournament, emerging as the first-ever ODI World Cup winners. Led by Clive Llyod, they were unbeaten throughout the tournament. West Indies won all their three league matches and then defeated New Zealand in the semis to reach the final. They won the title defeating Australia at the Lord’s Stadium by 17 runs.
#1979 ODI World Cup
West Indies won the Men’s ODI World Cup in consecutive years, continuing their domination. They defeated England in the final at the iconic Lord’s Stadium by 92 runs to clinch the trophy. West Indies did not lose a single match in the tournament. They won two of their three league-stage matches, while the game against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain. Advancing to the knockouts, they defeated Pakistan by 43 runs in the second semi-final of the tournament.
#2003 ODI World Cup
Australia is the most successful team in the history of the ODI World Cup, winning five titles. They won their second consecutive ODI WC trophy and their third overall in the 2003 tournament. They started off the tournament with a fantastic win against Pakistan and did not look back. The Ricky Ponting-led team topped the Super Six stages, winning all their five matches. They went on to defeat Sri Lanka in the semis and India in the final to win the trophy.
#2007 ODI World Cup
The 2007 ODI World Cup was Australia’s third-consecutive World Championship win, having secured the title in 1999 and 2003. They topped the Super eights winning all their seven matches. In the knockouts, they defeated South Africa in the semi-final and Sri Lanka in the final at Bridgetown. Just like the West Indies, Australia repeated their feat of winning the ODI World Cup twice staying unbeaten in both editions.
