White Ferns announce squad for ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 :- The New Zealand announced the squad for the 11th ICC Women’s World Cup, to be held between June 24 to July 23.

The Sixteen-year-old leg-spinner Amelia Kerr is set to become the youngest New Zealand women”s player at a World Cup. Amelia Kerr had taken 15 wickets in nine internationals that she played so far.

All-Rounder Suzie Bates will lead White Ferns at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 hosted by England which begins next month. All-rounder Sophie Devine return to White Ferns squad who was out due to a thumb injury.

“I’m really happy with the balance of the squad. I think it’s a strong team who are certainly capable of bringing that cup home. It’s really exciting to have Amelia in the squad and she’s proved herself more than ready for the big stage,” said the White Ferns coach Haidee Tiffen.

In seven ODIs, 16-year old leg-spinner Amelia Kerr has taken ten wickets.

The 16-year-old Amelia Kerr has impressed since her international debut in the home series against Pakistan last year.

The White Ferns squad will assemble for a Pre-tournament camp in Hampshire, two weeks before their opening match against Sri Lanka in Bristol on 24th June.

White Ferns have won the tournament once – in 2000 & have been runners-up three times in 1993, 1997 & 2009.
