English cricket player Mark Wood is a professional player. His birth took place on January 11, 1990, in Ashington, Northumberland. He can hit the deck with great force and is a right-handed hitter and quick right-arm bowler.

In an encounter with Norfolk in 2008, Wood made his Northumberland County debut. Prior to signing with Durham in 2011, he spent two years playing for them. 18 wickets at 21.63 average in his debut season. Because of his quick pace, he took 27 wickets in the winning season of 2013.

Despite being a slim fast bowler with a top speed of roughly 90 kmph, Wood was not able to play any games when he was part of the England squad for the 2015 West Indies trip.

Wood first played One-Day Internationals (ODI) for England against Ireland in May 2015 taking his initial international wicket. The same month marked his Test debut against New Zealand as well hence playing them.

In 2019 Wood played an important part when it came to England’s Cricket World Cup campaign. Wood has been a great asset for England through his fast bowling and batting contributions despite being injured too many times. In Ashes Series 2023, he did so remarkably that he was entitled man of the match.
