Born in Vishakhapatnam, India on May 26, 2003, Nitish Kumar Reddy is the son of Mutyala Reddy who used to work for Hindustan Zinc. At the age of 5 he started playing cricket and would often go to Hindustan Zinc grounds to watch the more experienced players. Instead of quitting when he got transferred to Udaipur, Nitish’s father helped him pursue cricket full time by resigning from his job.
During his early days as a cricketer,Nitish attended VDCA camps,where Watekar, Kumara Swamy and Krishna Rao were his first coaches.In spite of all the critics in their family towards this game,Nitish acknowledged that his father had faith on him no matter what.
Domestic Career
Nitish displayed great prowess through his extraordinary displays on local grounds. His Andhra first-class match was hosted during 2019-20 season of Ranji Trophy which was a platform where he proved beyond doubts what he could do as far as cricket is concerned.
After that initial exposure, he went ahead with further success in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) and Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A) for the year 2021.
