Career and Achievements
Beginning his professional cricket career as a junior player in 2010, Tom Curran has flourished into a talented all-rounder whose prowess with both bat and ball have made significant contributions to the sport. His parentage was of cricketers since his father, Kevin Curran used to play for Zimbabwe before switching over to coaching.
When he made his debut for Surrey in 2013 against Worcestershire, the right-arm fast-medium bowler made an immediate impression as a lower order batsman. Considering the level at which he achieved domestic success, selectors couldn’t ignore him anymore; hence obtaining a limited-over’s international debut for England on 14th June 2017 against Pakistan in Bristol.
He was soon recognized as one of England’s fine limited-over bowlers on account of having the ability to swing the ball both ways while at the same time turning matches around with unexpected breakthroughs at crucial moments. It is important to note that during this period some of England’s most notable triumphs were in limited overs.
He has played several domestic teams including “Surrey County Cricket Club,” a first-class county club; “Kolkata Knight Riders,” a professional franchise T20 side based in India; “Sydney Sixers” which is an Australian male professional domestic cricket LLC; “Rajasthan Royals,” (a professional sport team operating from Jaipur Rajasthan); and “Oval Invincibles,” South London based franchise.
