Who Is Yasmin Badiani? The Mystery Girl In The Indian Dressing Room

The second Test of the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England at Edgbaston has delivered high-octane drama. From Shubman Gill’s brilliant innings to Mohammed Siraj’s fiery six-wicket spell, the on-field action has been gripping from start to finish.

Yet, a brief off-field moment managed to steal the spotlight. During England’s first innings, television cameras captured a woman in the Indian dugout smiling and seemingly engaged in a light conversation with Jasprit Bumrah. The clip quickly went viral, sparking widespread curiosity on social media.

Fans began to ask: Who is the woman seen chatting with Bumrah in Indian team attire? The mystery woman was soon identified as Yasmin Badiani, a professional working with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Badiani is part of the ECB’s Operations Team and, as per usual international tour arrangements, has been designated to support the Indian side throughout their England tour. Her duties involve overseeing travel logistics, coordinating schedules, and maintaining communication between the ECB and BCCI.

Why Yasmin Badiani Was Seen In Team India’s Jersey At Edgbaston

One of the most frequently asked questions by fans was why an ECB official was spotted wearing the Indian team’s jersey. The reason lies in Yasmin Badiani’s official duties. She has been assigned specifically to assist the Indian team during their tour.

In her operations role, she is responsible for providing real-time updates related to match logistics, managing security arrangements, coordinating training sessions, and facilitating stadium access. Notably, Yasmin is no stranger to the sports world. Her LinkedIn profile reveals that she holds a degree in physiotherapy.

Between 2010 and 2013, she worked as a sports physiotherapist for Leicester City Football Club. Following her stint in physiotherapy, Yasmin transitioned into sports science management. She went on to lead the sports departments of two prominent hydration and recovery brands — Phizz Ltd and ORS Sport — serving as their Head of Sport.
