Team India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara is in tremendous form in the ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup 2022 tournament. He slammed consecutive centuries for Sussex in the competition. The right-handed batter scored 174 runs against Surrey at the County Ground in Hove on Sunday (August 14). Sussex eventually won the match by a huge margin of 216 runs.
Cheteswar Pujara led the Sussex team in the match in place of injured Tom Haines. Batting first, Sussex put on 378 runs on the board, on the back of centuries from Tom Clark and Cheteswar Pujara. They got off to a dismal start, losing both their openers, Harrison Ward and Ali Orr early for nine runs. However, Pujara got together with Clark to bail them out of trouble. They put on a 205 runs partnership for the third wicket-stand.
Cheteshwar Pujara slammed 174 runs off just 131 deliveries. His knock included twenty boundaries and five sixes and came at a strike rate of 132.82. Wow,Pujara!Walked in at 9/2 and when he was gone Sussex were 350/6 with 15 balls still left. Along the way amassing 174 of 131! 5 sixes reminded me of Ashwin's bet that if Pujara goes over the top against Moeen or any spinner, he'll cut half his mustache, albeit in a test match😆
