The second ODI between Team India and Australia got underway on Sunday, September 24 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. The hosts are without the services of their lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the second game. He has been given a short break by the team management.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India took to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to share the update. Jasprit Bumrah did not travel with the Indian team to Indore for the second ODI. He has gone back home to visit his family. The pacer was recently blessed with a baby boy. He will be back for the final ODI match at Rajkot.

Pacer Mukesh Kumar has replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the squad for the second ODI. However, he did not get an opportunity to feature in the XI. Mukesh made his ODI debut earlier this year against West Indies in Bridgetown. He played three matches in the series, taking four wickets, at an average of 17.25.

In his absence, Steve Smith is leading the Aussie XI in the second ODI. They have included Spencer Johnson, Alex Carey and Josh Hazlewood in the team for Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh. Australia is one down in the three-match series after losing the first game by five wickets.
