Veteran India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the key bowlers for the Indian Cricket Team in the shortest formats. He was included in the playing XI for the first T20I match against West Indies at Brian Lara Stadium, Trinidad. The leg spinner took 2 wickets in the same over getting rid of Kyle Mayers and Brandon King. It was a superb bowling spell by Chahal ending with figures of 2 for 24 in 3 overs.

The Indian team lost the first T20I match by just 4 runs. Chahal has moved to 93 wickets in his T20I career so far. He is the leading wicket-taker for India in the shortest format and needs 7 scalps to complete 100 wicket milestones. If he can grab more wickets during the ongoing series against West Indies, he will become the first Indian to pick 100 scalps in the shortest format and would surpass the records of Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan, Mark Adair, and Shahid Afridi.

Chahal was not given a chance in the 3-match ODI series against West Indies. He was included in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 held in Australia but did not get a chance to feature in the playing XI as India lost the tournament in the semi-finals against England.
