Former India captain Virat Kohli captured the hearts of a cricket-loving family in Barbados when he graciously accepted and proudly wore a charming handmade bracelet from a young fan at the Kensington Oval. The heartwarming incident was captured in a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on July 30, which witnesses the kid’s father in tears as he witnessed Kohli’s genuine humility and down-to-earth nature.
The encounter didn’t end with just the bracelet, as Kohli also signed posters and took pictures with the delighted family. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav also took the time to interact with fans during the visit.
In the video, the young kid excitedly recounted the moment when he approached Kohli, screaming his name, and presented the bracelet he had made with his own hands. The father expressed his family’s deep love for cricket, describing it as a special family reunion at the game.
He was profoundly touched by Kohli’s kindness in accepting the bracelet and was moved to tears as he saw the cricket icon proudly wearing it and posing for pictures.
India faces difficulties in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team was engaged in a three-match away ODI series against West Indies, which saw an intense battle between the two sides. After India’s victory in the first ODI by five wickets, the hosts managed to level the series by defeating India by six wickets in the second match at the Kensington Oval.
The second match’s loss for Team India was primarily attributed to their poor batting performance. Despite an impressive 90-run opening stand, the team collapsed, managing only 91 additional runs before getting all-out. The absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the playing eleven during this match was a strategic decision made by Rahul Dravid and the team management to provide an opportunity for some of the bench players to showcase their skills.
However, the replacements, Sanju Samson and Axar Patel, failed to make a significant impact with the bat. Looking ahead, cricket fans eagerly anticipate the return of the experienced duo, Kohli and Sharma, for the final match of the series scheduled to be held at the Brian Lara Stadium on August 1.
Their inclusion is expected to bring strength and stability to the Indian side as they aim to secure a series victory in this exciting cricket showdown.
