After a thumping victory by innings and 92 runs in Antigua, India will be looking to continue their dominantion in 2nd Test at Sabina Park, Kingston. West Indies on the other hand have got a lot to think about. Indians are expected to play same XI. It will be interesting to see whether Alzzari Joseph will get his first Test cap or will West Indies go with the same line up??
Coming to Jamaica, Indians have got some good memories over here. On their last 2 tours to West Indies, India have won only 2 Tests and both at Sabina Park. This was the same place where Virat made his Test debut in 2011. However, West Indies” record at Sabina has been mixed bag in last few years. In last 5 Tests at Jamaica, West Indies have won 2 and lost 3.
The wicket at Sabina Park is expected to be grassy. Curator Michael Hylton quoted, “Grass is important. I will leave a lot of grass on the pitch. And there is concrete underneath it. So expect pace and bounce.” If this is the case then India might well rest Mishra and play an extra batsman to add extra cushion to the batting line up. Or they may go with Binny whose ability to swing the ball can be handy on a green top.
Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Samuels who are the pillars of WI batting line up need to fire if West Indies are going to give themselves any chance to put Indians on back foot. In bowling department Gabriel and Bishoo who bowled pretty well need need to keep up the good work. For India, Pujara and Vijay who missed out in Antigua will be looking to get back to form. Will West Indies make a comeback in the series or will it be 3-in-a-row for India at Sabina Park?? Only time will tell!!
