Women”s Cricket Included in 2022 Commonwealth Games

The inclusion of cricket has a part of World games is something that has been gaining attention over the years. Many proposals have been passed but desired results weren”t achieved.

Shorter formats were also suggested but due to a constant in compromise among several cricket boards, this idea failed for its execution. Now, there”s something to rejoice for all cricket enthusiasts. Women”s cricket has now all set to be included as a part of Commonwealth Games 2022.

The announcement came today. Alongside the game, beach volleyball and Para-table tennis are other two games proposed by the committee of organizers to the Commonwealth Games Federation and there has been a positive nod from the management.

A final announcement is expected six weeks from now and it will be interesting regarding the strategies that will be made for its implementation. “We are absolutely delighted that women”s cricket has been nominated for inclusion in Birmingham 2022 – it would be a real honour to become part of the Commonwealth Games family,” said ICC chief executive Manu Sawhney.

This would be one of the most remarkable achievements in the cricket world, that too in England. It is to be noted that Women”s cricket has been gathering a lot of fans since that edition of Women”s World Cup at England in 2017.

India and England sides locked horns in the finals of the tournament and it was said to have witnessed by a lot of fans all over the World. Reports suggest that eight teams will be participating in the edition and further news regarding the same is expected.
