The 13-year-old schoolboy cricketer has taken a perfect over as he took six wickets in six balls probably the first time since the inception of cricket 149 years ago.
Luke Robinson achieved this match-winning performance playing for Philadelphia Cricket Club”s Under-13s, based near Houghton-le-Spring, Tyne and Wear in north-east England. His family was present at the ground to witness this outstanding performance.
His father Stephen Robinson was the umpire of the match, while his mother Helen was the scorer who was the first person to record this feat. Luke’s younger brother Matthew also took part in the match and was playing for the same team. His grandfather was also present on the ground to watch the match.
The opponent team was looking good at 10 for 1 but it was the wonder kids over which made all the difference and they were bundled out for just 18. All the wickets he took were clean bowled as the batsman found him tough to negotiate.
Stephen, 45-years-old after the match said, “It was surreal, I have been playing for 30 years and have taken hat-tricks but never anything like this. Time stood still and I thought, “Is this really happening?”
