Mumbai Indians continued their dominating run with a fourth successive win against UP Warriorz played at Brabourne Stadium on 12 March 2023 in the WPL 2023.
Chasing down 160 runs to win, Yastika Bhatia looked in brilliant touch putting pressure on UP Warriorz bowling. Hayley Mathews hit some lovely shots during the first over against Rajeshwari Gayakwad keeping the scoreboard ticking.
It happened during the 5th over as UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy decided to review the decision and it was overturned to out. After seeing repeated replays, the umpire changed the appeal to not out. Mathews refused to walk and again reviewed the decision before on replay it was overturned to not out again.

It was a superb opening partnership between Mathews and Bhatia putting on 58 runs for the opening wicket. Both Mumbai India openers fell in quick succession. Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver Brunt looked cautiously initially as they ended the first timeout at 64 for 2.
The captain and Sciver Brunt showed intent keeping the scoreboard ticking with attacking shots. It was a brilliant display of hitting making sure that Mumbai Indians made the chase easy. Kaur demonstrated brilliant shots after the second timeout. Kaur completed fifty off 31 deliveries and kept the scoreboard ticking along with Brunt. Brunt hit the winning runs with a boundary to help Mumbai Indians win the match by 8 wickets with 15 balls to spare.
WPL 2023: Mumbai Indians stay on top of the points table
Mumbai Indians produced some dominating performances in the first four matches so far. They began the tournament with 143 runs over Gujarat Giants, thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets, and defeated Delhi Capitals by a massive margin.
MI bowlers showed their discipline again as Alyssa Healy was the top scorer with 58 as Tahila McGrath completed a half-century. Saika Ishaque continues to create an impact picking 3 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs.
Amelia Kerr picked 2 wickets for 33 while Mathews grabbed 1 for 27 to restrict UP Warriorz at 159 for 6 in 20 overs. They would look to continue their winning streak in upcoming matches and finish at the top of the points table to qualify for finals directly.
