Wriddhiman Saha undergoes successful shoulder surgery in England

India put up a brilliant display of bowling the day 1 of the first test at Edgbaston. Ashwin, Shami and Umesh turned the things around for India in the third session and hopefully, the top order would look to replicate the same in the batting.

Meanwhile, injured wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha had successfully undergone his surgery and thanked all the fans who supported him during this tough phase. Wriddhiman Saha wasn”t named in the squad as he succumbed to a shoulder injury a month ago. The 32-year-old is currently at Manchester and is expected to be back in the country in a couple of weeks.

A few days ago his PR team had made an announcement in the social media that the batsman is running through a “lean patch” and not to write him off anytime soon. On his absence, the duties were handed over to Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh pant was named his back-up.

Here’s a message from Wriddhiman Saha to his fans

In his Instagram account, Wriddhiman Saha wrote “Thank you to all my family members and well-wishers. All went well. Lots of love to you all”. However, details on his discharge and extent of the injury haven”t been out yet.

Wriddhiman Saha will be targeting the Australian tour towards the end of the year by keeping himself available for selections. Injuries really hampered his progress in 2018 as he hadn”t made it to Sunrisers squad and the historic test against Afghanistan.

So what do you think on Wriddhiman Saha”s absence in the squad? Will it affect the middle order or DK will make the best use of it?
