Following the conclusion of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season, all eyes will be on the World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and Australia, which is scheduled to take place from June 7 to June 11 in London.

A video of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin reflecting on their journey to the WTC Final was released by the Board of Control of Cricket in India prior to the match.

The WTC Final Journey is described by Sharma and Ashwin.
Sharma claimed that it was the fruit of the team’s two-year effort. He did add, though, that the work isn’t finished yet.

Rohit Sharma: “Yes, it feels absolutely incredible to be in this position knowing that we have advanced to the finals. The boys are extremely happy about it because, as you know, all of your effort over the previous two years has now been realized. Clearly, more work needs to be done. We must head out there and achieve the best outcome possible. ”

In the meantime, Ashwin elaborated on how the group had improved following the legendary captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s retirement. In spite of having few seniors to mentor them, he continued the group, which was still fairly new, and had managed to make it to the WTC Finals the previous two years.

“Ravichandran Ashwin: We put in a lot of work, the turnaround definitely started in 2014–15, MS Dhoni had just retired, and we had all played a few Tests, probably 20–30 Tests pretty early on. We had to embark on our own journey, which is never easy without the seniors, but I can confidently say that all of our efforts have paid off over the past two cycles of WTC. Like Puji (Cheteshwar Pujara) said in his 100th Test match video, we are qualifying for the final for the second straight time thanks to our consistent cricket play. I believe that we should all succeed in winning this for Puji.”

India also rose to No. 1 this year earlier. 1 team in Test cricket after defeating Australia 2-1 at home in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. India took a 2-0 series lead by winning the first two Test matches in Nagpur and Delhi. India held out for a draw to secure a series victory despite losing in Indore.
