WWE Superstar Finn Balor has heaped praise on Virat Kohli and said he would love to learn the game of cricket from the Indian captain and also play a practice match against him. The Irish wrestler also added he would love to see Ireland and India playing against each other more often.
“I”d love to meet the captain of the Indian cricket team. I think he is kind of badass and everything (laughs)…You know, I”d actually love to play a practice match and if he could show me a few tricks and teach me the laws of the game which I missed out on. I think it would be fun to have a couple of rounds with him.” Said Balor during an exclusive chat with India Today.
“I absolutely have no idea about the game, never seen much of cricket. I”ve seen a little bit on TV against Australia. I know Ireland has been doing quite well recently. I”ve been in Japan and America for the last 15 years, so it”s not something I”ve had much of an opportunity to witness. But obviously, I”m proud and would love to see Ireland and India in the future.” He further added.
Virat Kohli represents the quintessential modern-day brand of cricketers who have style, swag, and tattooed arms. Many others in Indian team like Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya, and Manish Pandey follow that style and are very different from former greats like Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. The culture in Indian team is changing fast.
India now plays Sri Lanka in 3 tests, 3 ODI and 3T20Is in a series starting on November 16. After that in January, they tour South Africa in perhaps their toughest cricketing assignment in 2 years. Kohli who has been playing non-stop cricket off late is expected to get some rest in limited overs series against Sri Lanka to keep himself fresh for South Africa tour.
2017 has been a very successful year for Kohli with the bat. This year he has scored 1406 runs in ODIs at an average of 76 with 6 hundred.
