The talented 23-year-old cricketer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has unexpectedly chosen to remain with Mumbai for domestic cricket. Only a few moments before that, he had sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to change to Goa, where he was reportedly given the captaincy. But Jaiswal has decided to withdraw his request and play for Mumbai.
As per the reports, Jaiswal’s decision to leave Mumbai was because his family was planning to shift to Goa. But it appears those plans have turned, and now Jaiswal would like to stay with Mumbai.
“I want to withdraw the NOC given to me, as my plans to shift to Goa have been curtailed. I request MCA to allow me to play for Mumbai this season. I haven’t submitted the NOC to BCCI and the Goa Cricket Association,” Jaiswal wrote in an email to MCA.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Changes His Mind About Leaving Mumbai
The decision by Jaiswal to not move away from Mumbai follows a good record so far in his Test career. The young cricketer has featured 19 times for India, scoring 1,798 runs at an average of 52.88. He has four centuries and ten half centuries under his belt. Jaiswal’s incredible performances in Test cricket probably made him reconsider his decision to exit from Mumbai.
Jaiswal had earlier, of course, put his wonderings on paper, saying that while his major aspiration would be to do well for India, whenever he was not busy representing the country, he would play for Goa with the hope of helping them reach far in tournaments. But apparently, his priorities have changed and he now wants to concentrate on his cricket career with Mumbai.
With this change of heart, Mumbai in domestic cricket shall be better served by Jaiswal. His test form will surely be an asset to his team and the fans will lust to see him in action.
