On Thursday, December 11, Yuvraj Singh and Harmanpreet Kaur, two cricket legends, were awarded with a prestigious honor at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. The stadium’s stands were renamed after the two renowned sportsmen in recognition of their remarkable services to Indian cricket. The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself honored the stars at the ceremony.
The celebration shared the excitement of an Indian cricket day, as the second T20I match between Suryakumar Yadav’s India and Aiden Markram’s South Africa was about to start at the same ground. This award reinforces the players’ enormous impact on the game and their position as the mainstays of Indian cricket’s past.
