Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has landed himself in big trouble for his remarks during an Instagram Live chat with Rohit Sharma. Incidentally, the legendary cricketer is a facing a police arrest for his ‘bhangi’ remark on Yuzvendra Chahal. Finally, Yuvraj has come out with a clarification after facing the wrath of the fans.

Meanwhile, the conversation dates back to almost a month. In the wake of the lockdown, cricketers are chatting on social media giving fans a chance to know them better. Yuvraj had called Chahal ‘bhangi’ for his latest TikTok videos. While it was a light-hearted comment from Yuvraj Singh, hundreds of people seem to have taken the comment on offence.

Police case filed against Yuvraj Singh

Reports suggest that Dalit rights activist and advocate Rajat Kalsan has filed a police case against Yuvraj Singh. He has lodged the diary in Hansi in Hisar, Haryana. With the matter blown out of proportion, the illustrious cricketer has issued a statement to clear his stand.

“This is to clarify that I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception,” read the statement.

“I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted. However, as a responsible India I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same. My love for India and all its people is eternal,” the statement added.
