Yuvraj Singh, Ravi Shastri Engage In Hilarious Banter On Twitter

The current Indian head coach Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh who have been part of World cup victories in 1983 and 2011 respectively, recently engaged in a ‘senior-junior’ banter on Twitter today.

On the occasion of the 37th anniversary of India’s first World Cup win in 1983, Yuvraj tweeted to wish the World Cup-winning team by saying it is ‘a moment of national pride’. He also talked about how the ‘Kapil Dev’ led team set a benchmark to achieve the feat in 2011.

Yuvraj Singh-Ravi Shastri engage in banter

“A moment of national pride, our seniors lifted the 1983 Cricket World Cup on this day. Congratulations to every member of the 1983 team. You set the benchmark for us to achieve the same in 2011. Look forward to India becoming a world champion in all sports.”, Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri sensed the opportunity to start a friendly banter with the former India all-rounder replied back by saying,

“Thanks, junior! You can tag me and Kaps also. #therealkapildev.”

In no time Yuvraj Singh replied back to the tweet, “Hahahaha senior. You are a legend on and off the field. Kapil Paaji was a different league altogether.”

Meanwhile, the banter was in relevance to Ravi Shastri’s tweet on 2nd April 2020, when he mentioned just Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli in his congratulatory tweet for the 9th anniversary of India’s 2011 World cup win. Surprisingly, Shastri left out Yuvraj Singh, who played a significant role in the World Cup-winning campaign.

“Many congratulations! Something you will cherish all your life. Just like we from the 1983 group #WorldCup,” Shastri tweeted.

Yuvraj, after noticing the tag of just Sachin and Virat used the term ‘Senior’ to taunt back Shastri in a friendly manner for missing to tag himself (Yuvraj Singh) and Mahi (MS Dhoni) in the tweet.

“Thanks, senior, you can tag me and Mahi also, we were also a part of it,” Yuvraj replied.

However, it was all done in good banter and both Ravi Shastri and Yuvraj Singh share a good bond.
