Yuvraj Singh Set To Play In Canada; Picked Up By This Side

Yuvraj Singh”s retirement came as a bolt from the blue last week. It is extremely emotional in the cricketing fraternity and among the fans to see, the man who played such a pivotal role in India”s two victorious campaigns hang up his boots. A few debated on his exit without a farewell game.

After putting curtains to his career, his focus is on spreading cancer awareness among groups of children.

Even in his retirement speech, Yuvraj showed clear intentions of playing T20 tournaments around the world. He also sought permission from BCCI regarding the same.

After almost 10 days into his retirement, BCCI accepted his permission to play overseas cricket. This comes as very delightful news to all Yuvraj Singh fans across the globe.

Yuvraj was picked up by the Toronto Nationals side in the Global T20 Canada league. The league was started last year and attained massive prominence after a great show.

Players like David Warner, Steve Smith, Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Lasith Malinga, Chris Gayle and many other star internationals players were a part of the league.

After the success of the first season of Global T20 Canada League, the tournament in its second edition will see even more stars in the form of Yuvraj Singh, Kane Williamson and Faf du Plessis.

Fans are ecstatic about the fact that Yuvraj will be a part of this league and they could see their hero back in action. Yuvraj was hailed as a short format specialist for so long, but he wasn”t considered as a part of playing XI in the last two editions of Indian Premier League so often.
