Australia’s limited-overs skipper Aaron Finch has undergone surgery to heal his knee injury. He suffered a cartilage tear in his right knee during the fifth and final T20 International against West Indies.
Aaron Finch took to his social media account to share the update regarding his knee injury. He posted a picture on Instagram right before his surgery and wrote, “Just about to go in and get the old knee fixed up!!”

Aaron Finch returned back home from the Caribbean and underwent surgery after completing the mandatory two-week quarantine. Cricket Australia released a statement saying that Finch had a successful operation on Thursday. He will take 8-10 weeks to recover from the injury.
“His recovery is expected to take 8-10 weeks meaning he should be available for the opening games of the World Cup in mid-October,” the statement said as quoted by the Espncricinfo.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 will kickstart on October 17. The Super 12 stage will begin its following week. Australia is in Group 1 alongside England, South Africa, West Indies, and two teams from the qualifiers.
