AB De Villiers Should Bat With His Eyes Closed: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra- AB De Villiers

AB De Villiers scored 75 off 42 balls as Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by 1 run in a closely fought contest. The loss has taken RCB to the top of the points table once again while Delhi finds themselves at three. Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra, enchanted by the way De Villiers batted has said that he should bat with his eyes closed.

Lauding ABD’s sensational knock against the Delhi Capitals, former Team Indian cricketer and full-time pundit Aakash Chopra joked that the RCB star should bat with his eyes closed in the cash-rich league. Aakash Chopra, who is famous for his cricketing analysis and predictions about the IPL matches, was in awe of De Villiers’ match-winning knock against the Delhi Capitals at the world’s largest cricket stadium.

AB De Villiers Should Bat With His Eyes Closed: Aakash Chopra

“It was the AB de Villiers show. He is Superman, unbelievable. It was something only he could do. He should bat with his eyes closed or else it becomes too easy for him or he should play with the edge of the bat or play with the bat’s edge with his eyes closed,” Chopra was quoted as saying.

AB De Villiers also went past 5000 IPL runs during the course of his innings. He is only the second overseas player and the sixth overall to get to that milestone.

Meanwhile, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar wants AB De Villiers to open for RCB given the kind of form he is in IPL 2021. He spoke about the same after the game between the two sides.

“Listen, why don’t you send him to open the batting because we can get to see more of him rather than him coming in the 10th or the 11th over. Let’s see 20 overs of ABD’, that’s what I, as a former batsman, always say when I see AB de Villiers in this kind of form,” he said.
