Team India all-rounder Axar Patel cracked a funny remark about star pacer Jasprit Bumrah following their T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Namibia. India secured a dominant 93-run victory at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, posting 209/9 batting first and bowling Namibia out for 116 in 18.2 overs.
The highlight came in the 13th over when Axar Patel dismissed Malan Kruger. Bumrah took a spectacular catch after Kruger attempted a sweep but got a top-edge. Positioned at short fine, Bumrah sprinted to his left, dived, and clutched the ball firmly with both hands, leaving fans in awe.
Speaking to the presenter and Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, after the match, Axar Patel shared his thoughts on the catch and made a humorous comment.
“Jab hawa mai gaya toh mujhe pata tha ki catch ho jayega. Lekin end moment mai maine dekha ball durr jaa raha hai aur Jassi udhar nahi tha, toh aap TV mai bhi dekh sakte ho ki mera reaction kya tha. Jasprit ne catch pakda, toh abhi voh mujhe sunaayega bhi ki maine tere bowling pe aise aacha catch pakda. Toh mai do-teen din yeh sunneke kiye ready hu,” he said. (via ICC)

In the same interview, Sanjana Ganesan questioned Axar Patel about his recent Snapchat craze, mentioning that Jasprit Bumrah had asked her to bring it up. Axar humorously replied that it was a way to keep fans updated on the happenings inside the team.
“Jasprit will not feature in anybody else’s content, so I knew that I would only have to bring him. So he is going around complaining about me to everyone now. You passed me this message, so now it is my turn,” he said.
